The Best Fairy - The Tooth Fairy!

Who exactly is the little fairy that flies through the halls every now and then? You know ~ the fairy that leaves money under the pillows of our precious little ones when they have lost a tooth?

Yes, that magical fairy is the Tooth Fairy - the one we all wonder about and dream of when we are small.

The Tooth Fairy is small, petite and comes in the night. She flies in and takes the tooth under your child’s pillow to keep for herself and leaves a bit of money. Sometimes you get coins, sometimes she will leave dollar bills, you just never know.

People have attempted to take pictures of the Tooth Fairy but the best depiction is by Famous Painter Maxfield Parrish. Fairies are a great influence in the artworld and legends and stories surround these fairies, producing ~ Fairy Tales.

In other cultures the loss of a child’s baby tooth or "milk teeth" ~ the child places the tooth in a tree or tossed the tooth to the sun. Now, our child places the tooth lost under his or her pillow and then waits to see what she will bring. The Vikings called their ritual “tooth fee”, where a small gift was given to the child when their tooth first appeared.

The Tooth Fairy would be thrilled that we have come so far in knowing her and appreciating her.
